A Dinner at Cask and Barrel

I love my life. And I love my friends!

I was invited to join Kachet for dinner at @caskandbarrel916 where we were fortunate enough to meet the incredible team behind what I’m calling a gem of a dining experience in Sacramento.

On The Table

  • North Carolina Blue Prawns  in a Rhubarb cocktail with nasturtium, avocado mousse, hickory buttermilk
  • Hangtown Fry  with Pacific oyster, chicken fried chicken egg, Beeler’s bacon, fennel peppers
  • Shell & Field Pea Succotash with crispy pig ear, white corn and collard pickles
  • Johnny Cakes with cherry pickles, charred chard and puffed white rice
  • Grilled Watermelon with purslane, sorghum & vanilla, walnuts, grilled strawberries and goat feta cheese
  • Lamb shoulder, pork spare ribs, and mixed sausages

and we drank some amazing cocktails:

  • No Ordinary Gin & Tonic  made with St. George’s Gin, house made tonic syrup, soda and lime
  • The Boulevard made with Bourbon, fresh grapefruit, allspice and rosemary
  • Sweet Del Paso made with whisky, local raw honey and seasonal fruit
  • Buck Hunter made with bourbon, house-made ginger syrup and fresh squeezed lemon juice
