Another foodie experience to share, this time consisting of lunch (which is normally not my favorite [meal of the day]) and Italy (which is definitely one of my favorites).
I had the pleasure of shooting photos at the new EaTuscany Caffe, located at 18th and L Streets in the Handle District. Owners – and super cute husband & wife team – Franco & Stefania opened up this labor of love that specializes in authentic Italian fare such as paninis and piadina (flat bread sandwiches) that are filled with Italian meats and cheeses and fresh veggies.
The kitchen is lead by Matteo Bonezzi, who you may remember was the head chef at Trick Pony. He created one of my favorite salads ever at Trick Pony, it was a beautiful mix of fresh greens & chicken, tossed in a balsamic vinaigrette perfectly resting atop a bed of melted cheesy fondue. Well I’m happy to report that this very salad is also at EaTuscany Caffe! Do yourself a favor and please go try it, it’s so good.
I can’t close my post without mentioning the house-made gelato. Yes. I said gelato. You will find classic Italian flavors here: pistachio, hazelnut, nutella, strawberry and lemon. To die for. Stefania is most proud of her gelato bar, so you’ll have to save some room for dessert!
